Identify your face shape

Pull your hair away from your face and look straight into a mirror. Compare the relative width of your forehead, cheekbones and jaw, then notice whether the overall outline is curved, angular or tapered. Many people sit between two shapes.

Oval face

An oval face is usually slightly longer than it is wide, with softly balanced proportions. Rectangular, square, round and gently upswept frames can all work well. Start by choosing a width close to the broadest part of your face.

Round face

A round face often has softer curves and similar width and length. Angular or rectangular frames can add visual definition, while slimmer shapes can create a lighter look.

Square face
